From Istanbul’s Bosphorus, where East meets West, to the Straits of Malacca, one of the world’s oldest trade crossroads, Türkiye and Malaysia came together last week with a shared purpose to deepen Islamic finance linkages and unlock cross-border opportunities grounded in shared values and mutual ambition.
Hosted by the Investment and Finance Office of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye (CBYFO) and jointly organised with the MIFC Leadership Council (MLC), the two-day Malaysia–Türkiye Business Mission convened senior policymakers, regulators, and industry leaders from Türkiye and Malaysia, in Istanbul.
The mission aimed to foster cooperation and explore new business opportunities between Malaysia and Türkiye under the Memorandum of Cooperation signed between CBYFO and MLC in 2024. It focused on strengthening bilateral linkages, catalysing practical collaboration, and building sustainable partnerships within the Islamic finance ecosystem.
Through panel discussions, roundtables, and business matching sessions, the mission explored targeted areas such as Islamic banking and capital markets, takaful and talent development.
At its core, this mission reflects our shared ambition to connect knowledge, talent and capital, and to foster a more inclusive and sustainable Islamic financial system globally.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to CBYFO for their warm hospitality and strong participation throughout the mission. We truly cherish and appreciate the partnership.
Not forgetting the presence of Ahmad Amiri Abu Bakar, Consul General of Malaysia in Istanbul, together with representative from hashtag#MATRADE and hashtag#MIDA in Istanbul whose support further reinforced the importance of this bilateral collaboration.
Our sincere thanks also go to all Malaysian and Turkish delegates for their active engagement and contributions. We look forward to continuing this important journey together.
